No particular order to this list, I hopefully will get to some of these. I adamantly refuse to buy hardcovers so some of these may not be read until net year though...
1.) The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #2) by Holly Black
Expected Publication: January 8th
Full disclaimer: I have not read the first yet, it's on my TBR. So I'm avoiding reading too much about this for fear of spoilers. But the hype has gotten me hyped. I know that this book is about Faeries, which is all the rage now!
2.) The Glided Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
Expected Publication: January 15th
This is a historical fantasy set in Paris 1889 and they are looking for an ancient artifact. There are 4 members to the party: an engineer, a historian, a dancer and a brother in all but blood.
The cover and summary has got me so intrigued. I keep seeing it topping most anticipated books as well!
3.) Courting Darkness (Courting Darkness Duology) by Robin LaFevers
Expected Publication: February 5th
This is about girls who are assassins during Medieval France. They are trained by a convent. Sybella the darkest sister and her mission to protect her sisters. Gwenievere has been undercover so long she is begin to forget who she is. Tragedy strikes and she has to take matters into her own hands, even if it means ignoring the convent. I guess they have to find each other in time.
I have read Grave Mercy (the first trilogy in this world) and I loved them so much. Can't recommend them enough. I am so excited to revise this world!
4.) The World of Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas Expected Publication: October 1st
I can not wait to read this book. I think it's just giving more background to the history and characters. Don't really care what it is about. I love this series.
5.) King of Scars (Nikolai Duology) by Leigh Bardugo
This is a story about Nikolai and his adventures after the civil war and dealing with the magic inside him.
I've talked about how much I loved SOC and how I was obsessed with it. Not as big of a fan of Grisha Verse, as I'm sure you could tell from my reviews. But still a Leigh fan, I'm ready for this series!
6.) Here There are Monsters by Amerinda Berube
Expected Publication August 1st
I'm currently reading an advanced eBook, and I'm loving it so far. Deidre was obsessed with the woods behind the house, and she disappeared one night when Skye was expected to watch her. What happened?
I actually picked this book off of the gorgeous cover. I am not very far in it, so I don't really know what is going to happen yet and there was no summary when I requested it.
7.) Storm Cursed (Mercy Thompson #11) by Patricia Briggs
Expected Publication: May 7th
I love this series and will read it forever. It's about the after effects of Mercy taking responsibility for the citizens and calling the area a neutral territory. It's obviously not, and I'm sure there will be a new powerful monster that appears.
8.) The Winter of the Witch (Winternight Trilogy #3) by Katherine Arden
Expected Publication: January 8th
This series is so whimsical. This is the conclusion to Vasya's story, she's caught in the middle of Moscow's disaster. She's caught in the world of magic and the real world. I can not wait for this to be in paperback.
9.) In an Absence Dream (Wayward Children #4) by Seanan McGuire
Expected Publication: January 8th
No idea what this is about, I still need to read the first book in the series. I'm on the hype wagon.
10.) A Spectre Haunting Europe by China Mieville
Expected Publication September 5th
This is apparently the history of the Communist Manifesto, which I know doesn't sound that interesting but I love how China Mieville twists genres. I've also read the Communist Manifesto, so this should be interesting for how its done.
11.) Come Find me by Megan Miranda
Expected Publication January 29th, 2019
I really enjoyed Miranda's other books so I'm excited to give this a try. This is a mystery that involves a family tragedy, cosmos, mysterious sounds. Sounds intriguing.
12.) The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
Expected Publication September 5th
Aside from her newest, I have read all of Ruth Ware's novels. I really enjoy them! Rowan Cain sees an ad that seemed too good to true, and a child ends up dead. Told by Rowan writing letters to her lawyer in jail, explaining what happened.
I'm sure there's more but thats the 12 that I'm stoked for so far!
