I loved this book, I think it exceeded my expectations and I had very high hopes for it. The writing was just as beautiful and the characters were more fleshed out. The world building for this whole series is just so incredible and I'd love to read more from this world.

The book starts of with Kora and Nova (two new characters) and we explore their life stories. They interconnect with the story as a whole in a heartbreaking way that isn't really expected. I like how I could picture perfectly where they came from.

I liked how we learned what happened in Weep and how the five half-human children survived. The characters all got developed more, flaws and all. Strange and Sarai's relationship was developed further, in an interesting way.

Honestly this book has everything that I like in a fantasy. Good world building, characters, the plot itself moved well and everything made sense (and wasn't predictable). Everything just flowed super well together.

5/5

I honestly recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasies. Don't be put off by the YA categorization, it's not really a YA. It doesn't have any of the usual tropes and the characters read like they are 18-20. Very good novel and worth checking out.

Cheers,

Jen.
