"The dream chooses the dreamer not the other way around". Does that not just pull you in and seem like something that would put you under a spell? I was so intrigued by this quote and the story. Where's all the Laini Taylor shrines? I'm ready to add to them!

This book is honestly perfection. The writing is beautiful, the story is weird, delightful and fairly original, the romance was cute and the world building was perfect. The atmosphere build around Weep and the city Strange was originally in was perfect. I felt like I was in a fairy-tale, dreamworld like existence as I read it.

Lazlo the Strange, is consumed with knowing what happened in the lost, mythical city that no one remembers. It is now a Nameless City known as Weep. He spends all his time researching the city. He inevitably goes on a magical journey. I really don't want to spoil too much, because there's something so exciting about watching it unfold. There's gods, goddesses, unlikely heroes, magic, romance, ghosts and a feeling of the unknown. I got some Lovecraftian and "The Library of Mount Char" vibes from this, which is great since I love both of those stories.

5/5.

I honestly can't recommend this enough to everyone who will listen. Everyone should read this.

Cheers,

Jen
