This is the sequel to Clean Sweep and continues the adventures of Dina running her inn. Dina needs more guests for the inn to thrive and boost her rating to get more guests. Thus, she agrees to host a peace summit between 3 warring species. Their is a crystal that needs protection, a new hired chief an adopted cat and cuteness with Beast. The three warring species are: space vampires, the Hope-Crushing Horde, and the merchants of Baha.
I read the first one super quick and really liked it, so I was really excited to get to the 2nd. This one was very slow to get going and it took me awhile to get into it. Once I did I did enjoy it, but I still didn't like it as much as the first. I can't put my finger on it, but somehow it just didn't suck me in. Supposedly there is characters from another one of her series in this, I didn't make the connection. I've only read the first two books of the Innkeepers Chronicles and the first Kate Daniels book.
3/5
It was okay, and I'd recommend continuing the series. I will probably continue the series because I do like Ilona Andrews and I like the character of Dina. The idea of running an inn is fun too. It's an easy, fun read and that's exactly what I expected reading it. Don't go in expecting it to be an amazing, memorable read that will change the way you think of something. Just read it for enjoyment.
Cheers,
Jen
