The 2nd book in The Ever Night Trilogy! Goodreads

Pages: 341

Publication Date: January 8th, 2013

Genres: YA Dystopian, YA Fantasy

This book did a great job of building on the ground work laid down by Veronica Rossi in the first book. Veronica Rossi added characterization, more to the world and an all around exciting story.

Perry is the Blood Lord of the Tides, which means he has to worry about being a leader and the welfare of his people. The Tides don't want to support Aria, due to the fact that she is a former dweller. This makes the people of the Tides question if Perry is a good leader. Roar has also becoming a main character and for the first time ever! A platonic friendship between two straight people of opposite genders with no longing feelings.

I liked how we finally got to meet Liv (Perry's sister) and that there was limited relationship drama. The author lets bad things happened, which is shocking in YA novels. I'm really excited to see how the third one ends.

4/5

Cheers,

Jen
